Heavy rains keep continuing to lash portions of coastal Karnataka, and will probably continue for the next 24 hours. The Indian Meteorological Department has prolonged the orange alert in the state’s coastline region until today, warning of the potential of heavy to very heavy rains.
The Indian Meteorological Department issued an Orange signal for coastal Karnataka on Saturday evening, predicting heavy rain. “Coastal Karnataka is likely to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall (115.6 to 204.4 mm) on July 22 and 23,” according to a weather forecast.
According to the KSNDMC, Neere in the Udupi district received heavy rainfall on Saturday, followed by the districts of Uttara Kannada, Dakshina Kannada, and Chikkamangaluru. Due to this Schools were declared holidays in Udupi.
