In an eagerly awaited announcement, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has declared the results for the highly competitive medical entrance examination, NEET-UG. Thousands of aspiring medical students across the country held their breath as the NTA unveiled the scores, revealing the brightest minds that have excelled in this prestigious examination.
Emerging as frontrunners with an astounding 99.99 percentile are Prabanjan J from Tamil Nadu and Bora Varun Chakravarthi from Andhra Pradesh as announced by the NTA. Their exceptional achievements not only reflect their hard work and dedication but also demonstrate the immense talent and potential present in our youth.
UP, Maharashtra, Rajasthan shines
Out of a total of 20.38 lakh candidates who appeared for the exam, 11.45 lakh candidates have qualified. Uttar Pradesh stands at the forefront among the states with the highest number of qualifying candidates, with 1.39 lakh, followed closely by Maharashtra with 1.31 lakh and Rajasthan with over 1 lakh qualifiers.
The NTA conducted the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (UG) on May 7 at 4,097 centers across 499 cities in India, including 14 cities outside the country.
Exam Conducted in 13 languages
A senior NTA official stated that seven candidates involved in unfair practices during the examination have been dealt with according to the prescribed norms. The examination was conducted in 13 languages, including Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu. Additionally, the exam was held in various international locations such as Abu Dhabi, Bangkok, Colombo, Doha, Kathmandu, Kuala Lumpur, Lagos, Manama, Muscat, Riyadh, Sharjah, Singapore, Dubai, and Kuwait City.
“The NTA has assigned an All India Rank to the candidates, and the admitting authorities will prepare merit lists based on these ranks for MBBS and BDS seats falling under their jurisdiction,” stated the official. Candidates applying to their respective states will indicate their category as per the state category list. State counseling authorities will then prepare their merit lists accordingly. Domicile-related matters will also be handled by the respective state authorities, with the NTA playing no role in this process.
